Ryan McClung has been a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) for 12 years and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Oregon for 20 years. He also recently obtained the Certified Exit Planning Advisor™ (CEPA®) credential which focuses on assisting business owners through the process of transitioning out of their business. Ryan has successfully exited two businesses of his own. After having been repeatedly asked for help with business exit planning by several clients it became obvious that this was an area which is given limited attention by most financial planners. This led to a desire to specialize in helping business owners. In addition, Ryan is also a real estate investor himself which has provided a depth of knowledge to advise clients who have real estate as part of their portfolios.
Ryan’s experience in advising both individuals and businesses has allowed him to develop a unique ability to help business owners with a range of topics and issues that are particular to them. That is why he believes it is important to approach financial planning on a granular scale. Ryan remains determined to spend time understanding each client's needs, wants, and financial goals so that he can create a well- thought, well-defined plan.
Seeing the end result of a transformative process is what he finds most rewarding. According to Ryan, the sight of joy on a client's face after lifting financial stress from their shoulders is priceless. That is why his planning process begins by discussing and defining what is most important to the client. From there, he will create a trusted, tailored solution that moves them toward the financial future they dream of.
Ryan studied accounting at Oregon State University where he received his Business Degree. Ryan also holds the following designations, registrations, and licenses:
Ryan's passions outside of financial planning include backpacking, beach trips, surfing with the kids, and just spending time alongside his family and friends. As someone who loves kids, Ryan will often volunteer for organizations that help support children in the community. For example, he was the Treasurer for the Metropolitan Youth Symphony and Parenting With Intent, which helps provide support and services to at-risk youth in foster care.
